iHeartMedia and Universal Music Group to Bring Virtual Reality to Live Events
More big news coming out of the Consumer Electronic Show: iHeartMedia and Universal Music Group are teaming up to bring virtual reality to your favorite iHeartRadio concerts and events. Imagine getting a front row seat at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, or hanging out with one of your favorite artists as they get ready to hit the stage at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball. Now picture getting to take part in all of these incredible experiences without even having to leave the comfort of your own home — or, for that matter, put on pants.
With this new partnership from Universal Music Group and iHeartMedia, all of this and more is possible, as the two come together to provide music fans with a fully immersive new type of concert experience through cutting-edge virtual reality technology. Beginning in April 2016 with the iHeartRadio Music Awards, all of iHeartRadio’s tentpole live events — including the iHeartRadio Country Festival, iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party, iHeartRadio Music Festival, iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina and the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour — will feature a VR experience to give fans unprecedented access to their favorite performers.
In addition, Universal Music Group and iHeartMedia will be teaming up for the iHeartRadio VR Concert Series, four shows by four individual artists, shot and distributed in their entirety in VR at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, California. Through the unique perspective of a VR lens, music lovers will get a fresh perspective on the performances by their favorite artists.
For all you music fans out there, get ready to take your concert-going experience to a whole new level with iHeartMedia, Universal Music Group and virtual reality in 2016!
