Artist of the Week: Little Mix

We still can’t get over how much fun we had at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, so we just had to pick one of our performers, Little Mix, for our Artist of the Week! The British girl group rocked it on Saturday, despite missing one of their core four, singer Perrie Edwards. They asked fans to sing super loud to make up for her absence – and we did!

So how did Little Mix make their way to the iHeartRadio Music Festival? The band got their start back in 2011 on the eighth season of the X-Factor in the U.K. – and they’re the only group to date to win the show! Little Mix’s cover of “Cannonball” by Damien Rice was their first No. 1 hit — others include “Wings,” “Black Magic” and “Shout Out to My Ex.” “Touch” peaked at No. 4 and adds to the girl group’s twelve total Top 10 U.K. hits.

Little Mix collaborated with Jason Derulo for “Secret Love Song,” a soulful ballad that’s definitely one of our favorites from the group. The girls also released “Power” featuring Stormzy in May and are on the lookout for more exciting collaborations. As for an upcoming album, the girls told us it’s coming soon when we chatted at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Take a listen to the rest of our interview below – Little Mix talks fragrances (they have 3!), top singles, and their aim to empower young girls through music! And when you’re done, hop on over to iHeartRadio for all your favorite Little Mix tunes!
