Artist of the Week: Taylor Swift

Calling all Taylor Swift fans! Have you heard her latest single, “Christmas Tree Farm”?! The song is an absolute bop, it’s filled with holiday spirit and as we inch closer and closer to December 25th, it’s taking over the music charts. But that’s not all that is new with Ms. Swift: The beloved pop sensation is turning 30 today!

Many of us have been listening to Taylor Swift for most of her life (and ours, too). She released her self-titled album in 2006 when she was just 16 and then released her second album, Fearless, which won the Grammy Award for album of the year in 2010. And her career only grew from there. As this decade comes to a close, Swift is one of the most accomplished musical acts of all time with over 37 million albums sold.

In a recent Instagram post, Swift described her feelings on ageing, saying: “I hear others say that one in his thirties no longer has as much stress and anxiety in life as in my twenties. And I can join in the observation that we are in our twenties looking to gain experience, try things out, fail, make mistakes.”

It’s good to hear that turning 30 doesn’t bother Taylor very much, but it’s even better to hear that she’s going back on tour this summer! To celebrate the release of her most recent album Lover, Taylor will be going on a brief but epic international arena tour. Thinking about buying tickets?
