...The Raging Idiots?
Being a part of The Bobby Bones Show, I’m quite familiar with The Raging Idiots. Though I can’t help but wonder what Nick Jonas or Ed Sheeran thought when some album named The Raging Idiots Presents — The Raging Kidiots passed them on the iTunes chart.
I mean, yeah, that’s pretty weird. I pre-ordered Adele AND this EP at the same time. Huh? What is life?!
But okay — who are The Raging Idiots and why should you know them? The Idiots are made up of my boss Bobby Bones (from The Bobby Bones Show) and our Digital Producer, Eddie. They do parodies of country songs, their own originals, and try (really hard) to sing everything from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song to Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison.” But make no mistake, they know they probably sing just as well as you think you do in the shower. That’s okay though, because the whole reason this band started was to raise money — so far, they’ve raised over a million dollars for charities. Their shows may be weird, but it’s a good weird. A mis-matching-socks, sing-along-to-your-favorite-Garth-Brooks-song weird.
The weirdest thing of all is that The Raging Idiots are playing a show at the Ryman Auditorium! If you're not familiar…that’s the mother church of country music!

— Nada (@nadameansnothin) November 11, 2015I’ve personally seen acts like Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, and Little Big Town in this legendary and historic venue. And now, on Monday, I’m going to see The Raging Idiots on this same stage. Crazy, right?
So how does a parody country music and cover band make it to the holy grail of country music stages? Let’s hear it from The Raging Idiots themselves:
The BIG 98 Presents: Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ Million Dollar Show For St. Jude sold out in an hour, and it may be because of the all-star band they’ve got backing them up (Chris Janson on the drums, Natalie Stovall on the fiddle, Lindsay Ell on guitar, and Kristian Bush on the mandolin) and the special guests mentioned (kinda) above.
Bobby hates to pat himself on the back so he’d hate me saying this, but it’s also a show to celebrate all that The Raging Idiots have done in the last year. You don’t just sing Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The USA” to sold-out venues around the country and raise over a million dollars and not have people want to celebrate with you!
