Country star newcomer Kelsea Ballerini has a new album release on the horizon, and she just dropped a single to whet our appetite! Released just last week, “Legends” is a wistful ballad to tug at our heartstrings just in time for our summer playlist. Kelsea joined us for an exclusive discussion about the new tune — you’ll be amazed at how much we packed into the brief interview!

A 2017 Grammy nominee for Best New Artist, Ballerini can best be described as a country pop singer with soul. Fans fell in love with Ballerini upon the release of her first album, The First Time released in 2015. The breakout country singer has since won an iHeartRadio Music Award for Best New Country Artist, a Radio Disney Music Award for Country Favorite Artist and has been nominated for a number of other influential awards, including a Grammy Award and a People's Choice Award.

During our chat, Ballerini notes the timeless and circumstantial relevance of “Legends,” as evidenced by her unwavering emotional connection to the song. When she wrote the song she was going through a breakup, and now — as it’s released to the world — she connects with it on a different level being happily engaged. She believes in the power of the nostalgic lyrics and hopes that fans in all types of circumstances will have the same reaction.
