Artist of the Week: Chris Webby

Chris Webby isn’t just another rapper. In fact, the Connecticut-born artist says he wants nothing to do with the “mumble rappers” of his time. Surrounded by music as a kid, Webby has been writing since he was 19. He prides himself on his lyrics, calling his style “clever and witty, with a good hint of intelligence,” and we can’t blame him for bragging!

In his latest song, “Raw Thoughts,” Webby has a few choice words for our politicians, and no one, Republican or Democrat, is safe from his wrath! He’s also critical of today’s rap circuit, calling out rappers who don’t respect the craft. Sometimes harsh but always honest, Webby does have a lot of respect for his artistic influences — Eminem, DMX, Ludacris, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones and yes, The Beatles! Who doesn’t love them?!

Since March, the rapper has been busy dropping new content every week for Webby Wednesdays, and he’s not planning to slow down anytime soon, so look for more material from him in 2018! In the meantime, check out the “Raw Thoughts" music video and look out for a clip from our favorite scene in Lion King — you’ll know it when you see it!
