#NewMusicTuesday: Bastille, “Quarter Past Midnight”

With a third album dropping later this year, Bastille is giving fans a preview of what’s to come with their new single, “Quarter Past Midnight.” The first track on the new album is all about diving into the night and living life to the fullest, delivered in the trademark indie pop style that fans of the U.K. band have come to love.

The rest of the highly anticipated album promises more of the classic Bastille sound, but packaged in a more personal and focused way in comparison to the group’s sophomore album, Wild World that had 19 songs on it, so this album might be a bit shorter, according to frontman Dan Smith. Listeners can also expect a tinge of 90s dance music nostalgia on some of the tracks. Sign us up—we love a good 90s throwback!

Though it’s the group’s third album, it’s actually their first time recording in their own studio, which has a risque history, to say the least. Check out our exclusive interview with Smith below to hear more about Bastille’s upcoming album and their unique recording space.
