Station of the Week: Stevie Wonder and Friday the 13th
Welcome to “Station of the Week!” Stop by every week for a taste of fun and exciting stations ranging from blast-from-the-past hits to today’s hottest singles, seasonal jams and genre-defying collections.
Today we want to highlight music legend Stevie Wonder in honor of his 65th birthday — which just so happens to be on Friday the 13th. Good thing we’re not superstitious; Stevie told us “it ain’t the way.” In all seriousness, we have to honor the amazing achievements of this musical legend: a prodigy discovered when he was just 11 years old. Since then, he has gone on to create some of the most vibrant and recognizable songs such as “Isn’t She Lovely”, “I Just Called to Say I Love You”, and “Living for the City”. You can hear these and all his hits as well as other artists of a similar vibe such as Marvin Gaye and The Temptations on Stevie Wonder Radio. We can’t guarantee that listening will give you good juju this Friday the 13th, but it can’t hurt.
So happy birthday Stevie Wonder! We’re sure you would agree, it couldn’t fit more perfectly than to have a world party on the day you came to be (yeah, we went there).
