Artist of the Week: iHeartRadio’s Living Black!
Get ready for the biggest and boldest celebration of Blackness in 2022!
In celebration of Black History Month, iHeartRadio is proud to announce the return of “iHeartRadio’s Living Black!”—a momentous, month-long celebration of the power and impact of Black culture, culminating in a special event with live performances from music’s biggest stars.
There’s no sophomore slump in the second year of “iHeartRadio’s Living Black!” celebration. Headlining this year is none other than the goddess herself Lizzo, who will serve up an extra special performance at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles. Supporting her will be more performances by stars like Big Sean, H.E.R., Moneybagg Yo and Ari Lennox—as well as special guest appearances from icons like J. Cole, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Saweetie and Bas.
The second annual “iHeartRadio’s Living Black!” (empowered by AT&T) live special is set to air on Wednesday, February 23, at 8pm local time on iHeartRadio’s Throwbacks, Hip Hop and R&B stations. And for the first time ever, iHeartMedia and TikTok are joining forces to bring the entire event live to your devices. Just tune in to iHeartRadio’s TikTok Live at 8pm ET on February 23 to watch the event live in all its glory!
But don’t fret if you can’t tune in live this year, fans will be able to catch the full show streaming on iHeartRadio’s YouTube channel until March 6th!
The event will be produced once again by Magic Lemonade, and weave one-in-a-lifetime performances into a powerful audio and visual celebration of the Black experience. Last year's epic performances included Roddy Ricch, Jhene Aiko, Kirk Franklin and more. iHeartMedia's Executive VP of Programming Hip Hop and R&B Strategy, Thea Mitchem said in a statement:
